Podiatry Job Responsibilities in Community & Aged Care Settings
Your Podiatry Role
As a Podiatrist at Plena Healthcare, you’ll provide routine assessments and treatments within residential aged care settings, working across a permanent 6–8 week roster that ensures consistency and continuity of care.
You’ll build strong, trusted relationships with residents, families, facility staff, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals while applying best practice in routine disease and wound care management.

- Develop, implement, and review individualised treatment plans

For podiatry students in their senior years of study, we offer an Allied Health Assistant program designed to provide early exposure to aged care podiatry.
As an AHA you’ll:
- Shadow experienced team members
- Receive training on documentation systems
- Gain hands-on documentation experience
- Potentially assist with supervised clinical tasks
- Develop insight into both clinical and social aspects of aged care
This pathway supports students in building confidence and capability before graduating.
New Graduates
We’re passionate about supporting early career podiatrists.
Each new graduate is assigned a Regional Manager and Team Leader and receives structured onboarding including:
- A dedicated at-home induction day covering HR, sterilisation protocols, and systems
- One full week of onsite training with a senior clinician
- Reduced performance expectations in the early months to prioritise competency and confidence
- Ongoing mentoring from your Regional Manager and Team Leader
- Regular cross-training days with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and other allied health professionals

Our OTs are on the move, visiting a variety of homes and living spaces—from private residences to retirement villages, and residential aged care facilities. We specialise in working with older adults to help them achieve meaningful goals. Whether it’s musculoskeletal, neurological, balance, behavioral, or cardiopulmonary issues, we’re here to provide the support they need. From home modifications (big and small) to prescribing equipment, assistive technology (AT), and conducting functional assessments, we’re all about building skills and capacity.
